Probably worth pointing out that not all Turkish Airlines flights from Heathrow have the long haul business class.

We have just arrived in Mauritius via Istanbul with Turkish on an all-in Trailfinders (not sure about the TF value any longer as all they do is flog inclusive packages instead on an open cost flight/itinerary system…TF are you listening). We were on a Gatwick flight and the chef was on board both flights.

We agree with Sophie as to:
The Food is goof
The service is good especially when they spill yoghurt on the 2B seat to Istanbul
Check in good both times for business class
Staff good and caring, esp on Mauritius flight
Istanbul airport is HUGE. We were 15-20 mins just taxiing to a central position to board a bus (a bit like Doha!).
Istanbul Miles and Smiles is one of the best, most spacious anywhere, especially
the quieter library area you mentioned in your earlier post. Fizz available
without having to ask, excellent pide and salads.
Turkish Air website is hopeless. We failed several times ahead to join Miles andSmiles. We failed to check in. We failed to raise them on the phone.

Turkish Airlines you are good, so sort the website.

We could have done with with more care and concern over entry to both Istanbul as a transit passenger, and even more so to Mauritius immigration re the health declaration. Airlines should automatically give out forms: it cost us a long time in the immigration queue.

Finally, despite some criticism Turkish are goOD and unlike BA did not treat us (experienced travellers) like babies/morons re safety features and promo announcements, so both flights were nicely relaxed!

This website has a review of all star alliance lounges in Heathrow T2.
If lounge hopping be aware that the Canadian lounge is a good 15m away from security using the moving walkways. However, if one needs to come back, the moving walkways don’t work in both directions, it therefore could take up to 25m to return to a departure gate nearer security (I walk fairly slow).
